Blastbomb
is best hunted in Ghelsba Outpost.
This spell can be safely soloed around level 10 if you can avoid aggro, it is safer after a few more levels, and a snap at 18 when you can use it. Nothing special is needed.
In Ghelsba Outpost you can find Orcish Warmachines hiding in little caves in the sides of the hills. Spawn locations are marked with red dots on the map above. You will note that some spawn points are linked with red lines. This indicates that One Warmachine can spawn at any of those connected points at random. At I-5 Two NM Warmachines spawn once an hour. Note that they are much higher in level then the others. There are Orcs all over the zone, and they will aggro on sight. In the Southern part of the outpost they are not more then level 9, as you move farther in they range up to 15. Take care as you hunt. The fights are simple. Find a Warmachine in a cave, and beat upon it in hopes it uses the spell. If you are approaching level 18 you will need a low damage weapon, and may need to use the 'turn your back and let it build TP' method. At lower levels, fight as you would if soloing an exp monster. The Warmachines will repop in Ten minutes, so the wait is not too long at the two easy to reach spawns.
In Fort Ghelsba you will find seven Warmachines about the Zone. There is also one NM that spawns about once every hour and a half. There are Orcs in great numbers here and they range in level up to 23. They are all around the Warmachine Spawns, so safe pulls are not possible. So if you are soloing you'll want to be able to kill the Orcs also. So this Camp is for solists of level 25 or so. It's still very dangerous due to links. If you bring a High level helper you will have no trouble.
Two Orcish Firebelchers spawn in Davoi. They are marked on the map above. There are Orcs in great numbers here, and they range in level up to mid 40's. They are all around the Warmachine Spawns, so safe pulls are not possible. So if you are soloing, you'll want to be able to kill the Orcs also. So this Camp is for solists of level 45 or so. It's still very dangerous due to links. If you bring a High level helper you will have no trouble. Since there are only two spawn points this is not the best camp.
Four Orcish Stonelaunchers spawn in the Misareaux Coast. One more in Lufaise Meadows. They are marked on the maps above. You need to be on or past CoP Mission 2-1 to hunt here. There are Orc, Giants, and Buggards in good numbers here, and they range in level up to mid 40's. They are all around the Warmachine Spawns, so safe pulls are difficult. So if you are soloing, you'll want to be able to kill the other monsters also. So this Camp is for solists of level 45 or better. It's still very dangerous due to links. If you bring a High level helper you will have no trouble.

Special notes about the spell a Blue Mage may like to know
Can I solo it? Yes. You should have no problems by level 10 in camp #1.
Do I need any special items? No. A low damage weapon to feed the monster TP is useful.
Do Orcish Warmachine like to use the move? They use it about 20% of the time. It can take a bit to see.
The Bind effect lasts for a decent amount of time. |
